Amy Heline

2006-2010 Scholarship Recipient

Ball State University

The Scholarship Foundation scholarship helped me pay for my degree from Ball State University. When I started college, my sister was already going to Saint Mary’s, so this meant my family had to juggle two kids in college. My mother was also was let go of her job when I was only a sophomore in college, so now my parents had more financial issues to worry about. During college I got to study abroad, go on advertising trips and participate in many on-campus organizations and activities. All of these activities make college special, and getting a scholarship helps you pay for those experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life. I had to take out some student loans to help pay for school, but it was nice to know I was getting a specific amount from the Scholarship Foundation scholarship each semester. I think it’s great that the Scholarship Foundation gives out so many scholarships. My sister and I both received scholarships from the Scholarship Foundation and we both finished school, had a great college experience and found full-time jobs.

I graduated from Ball State in May of 2010 with a bachelors degree in Advertising. I moved back to South Bend for a marketing internship. After my internship, I got my first full-time job at Holladay Properties doing marketing and events for Heritage Square Shopping Center. I currently work as the Social Media & PR Manager at The Centre, P.C., a plastic surgery practice with locations in Mishawaka and Elkhart. I’m also on the board of the Michiana American Marketing Association and the South Bend Alumni Association.
