Eligibility

Graduating Senior/High School Graduate Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduating senior or graduate of any public, parochial or private high school, as well as home-schooled students,
  • non-married resident of St. Joseph County who is not financially or legally responsible for any dependents,
  • a citizen of the U.S. or have proof of pending naturalization,
  • planning to attend a properly accredited undergraduate institution full time,
  • demonstrated need for financial assistance to attend college,
  • good academic standing in high school or in home-schooled curriculum as demonstrated by academic Transcript

Scholarship recipients are expected to use Foundation grants in conjunction with other resources to meet tuition, fees and other educational expenses.

Preference is given to high school seniors and graduates entering their freshman year of college. Recipients may apply for continued support in subsequent years if justified by financial need, subject to meeting academic progress requirements. Students beyond their freshman year or whose initial application was denied may reapply.

New Upperclassman or Renewal Applicant Eligibility Requirements

  • Non-married resident of St. Joseph County who is not financially or legally responsible for any dependents,
  • a citizen of the U.S. or have proof of pending naturalization,
  • planning to attend a properly accredited undergraduate institution full time,
  • demonstrated need for financial assistance to attend college,
  • meet the Foundation guidelines for cumulative GPA expected of students:
    • Sophomore 2.5 (C+)
    • Junior 2.75 (B-)
    • Senior 3.0 (B)
